-->
--> Where are you from?
I live in Lyon, France.
How were you first introduced to collage?
I first experienced collage as an adolescence, I had fun to cutting and retouching advertisements on the pages of magazines of my mother.
How long have you been working in the medium of collage?
I have practiced collage since 2010, previously I was working with drawing and linocuts.
Describe your work.
I have a great passion for images from many years. I create collages from old forgotten papers. I like to provoke clashes between eras, themes and ideas. For me, aesthetics is as important as the words or the idea of collage. The first serving the second. Except when I work for order, I do not precisely define the theme or the final idea of a collage, it "done" progressively. Some say that my graphic work is "surreal", to be honest, I don't care, I don't want to be locked into a particular style or artistic trend!
What materials do you like to work with?
I am interested in all the papers, old and new.
Please describe your process.
I work directly with the paper to make collages with scissors and glue or I scan and work on assembly and retouching via Photoshop.
Do you collect anything?
Old magazines, postcards and other more contemporary sources to create and mix images.
Do you listen to music when you work? If yes, who?
Music is essential for me, especially when I'm working on collage, this is my second passion after the visual arts. Right now for example, I like to listen to the latest album "Beak", "Dntel" or older groups like "The white noise" ....
Do you have any formal art training?
I am a graduate of illustration and graphic design at school Emile Cohl (Promotion 1999).
What other artists do you admire and why?
I particularly admire John Baldessari, this is probably the artist who gave me most desire to make collage, I also admire a number of these collages artists with whom I exchange on Facebook and who have, without being in the media spotlight, talent and ideas.
Do you have a favorite artist quote?
"Chance is the master of humor" Max Ernst.
